One of the goals of the 15e Voltigeurs is to be proficient in our light infantry drill. The Purpose of this manual is to teach rankers and officers alike the steps and execution of various commands. It is recommended that all new Cadets take a read of this in full. This manuel cannotn act as a substitute for ingame training but it will serve as a usefull rescource to both prepare for ingame drill and refresh one's skill. It is recommended new members read over this manuel and fammerize themselves with the basics of ingame drill in preparation for their first event.
When the company is falling in it will be in a single rank line to the left of the officer. The two most senior commanders will be on the right flank of the company and the following commanders on the left. If a bugler is present he will be 6 paces to the right of the column and will play commands when the line is deployed and firing.
When engaging an enemy formation the most common way we are deployed is in a skirmish line. The Skirmish line is a straight line with three-5 man intervals (spacing) between each man. This spacing serves as way to make ourselves harder targets to hit. It is very important that new members have the proper amount of spacing as it will improve the chances of both yourself and your teammates of not being hit. If the order right of left face is given the company will immediately close it’s intervals in the direction the command is given.
When firing men will reload kneeling and fire while standing. Firing while kneeling makes one a smaller target however bullet drop will be more prevalent since the shooter is lower to the ground and he will have to aim higher than when standing. When firing the two most senior commanders may detach themselves from the firing line. The second senior commander is expected to remain on the right half of the formation so that he may quickly return to his post if needed. While the company is firing the bugler will play continuously giving the company buffs and officers will take muskets when available and fire as well.

This is one of our most common commands that you will hear in events and is the most important. This is done when we are in a column and wish to deploy a skirmish line to the columns front. When the command “By Company into line, march” is given the company will deploy to both sides of the front of the colum. The officer file (1-2 officers) will halt and the two rankers behind the officer file will deploy with one man intervals on both sides of the officer file. Once the two rankers deploy to both sides of the leading file the officers will detach themselves from the line. If done correctly there should be 1-2 man spacing in the center. The rest of the company will deploy in a left right left right manner with each ranker going to the opposite side of the line in which the man in front of them goes with 3 man intervals and 5 when using Rifles. The two most senior officers will act detached from the line either firing or giving orders
The Command Guide’s (X) is the way the company advances forward in a ripple while in line. The “Guide”is the officer who is guiding the company forward. He can either be on the left, right or center of the line. For example the command “Guide’s Right forward March” means that the officer is on the right of the line and the company will advance in a ripple from him.
